84 Lumber to open second store

MANATEE - The area's second 84 Lumber Co. store is slated to open Monday after the company paid $3.5 million for property formerly used in boat manufacturing.
In September, the privately-owned lumber company bought the 8.14 acres owned by Famous Craft Inc. at 7921 15th St. E., on the east side of 15th Street East and south of Tallevast Road, just north of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Convention Center. Famous Craft Boats, a company that makes family cruisers and fishing boats, moved its manufacturing facility this summer to Anderson, S.C.
