Big trends point to smaller, casual interiors

Bradenton Herald - It's been said that time has no visible dividing line to mark the passage of a year, no bolt of lightning, no blaring of trumpets. Nowadays, though, we have a reliable bell ringer: fashion in home décor.
Color and fabric change annually. Furniture as well. And this year, even the way we decorate.
Home sizes are changing, too. According to Design Basics Inc., the nation's largest supplier of home plans, square footage is shrinking. In the last decade, most homebuyers chose bigger spaces over architectural detail. Now the opposite is true, the contributing factor being nostalgia for the good old days.
